Mr. Cox was born Aug. 19, 1945, in Jefferson County to Usury S. and Lessie D. Townsend Cox. He was married to Glenda Faye Suttles Cox.
He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Glenda Faye Cox of Arab; son: Jimmy Leon Cox of Kennesaw, Ga.; daughter: Angela Cox Moss of Arab; and grandchildren: Joshua J. Mahas and Angel M. Cox.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at New Friendship Baptist Church with Fred Wilks and Jerald Adams officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
