Mary Sue Blair Hairgrove Muzzy, 90, of Brenham, Texas passed away peacefully Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her home.

Sue was born October 1, 1922 in Argyle, Texas to parents Mable Sue (Gibbs) Blair and John E. Blair.

Sue loved the community of Brenham and Washington County. She had numerous accomplishments including: founder of the Washington County Blue Blazers in November, 1971, Blue Blazer of the Year with 25 yearly awards, helped found the Economic and Development Board, Washington County Woman of the Year 1990, Past President of the United Fund, member of the Washington County Appraisal Board, Tax Assessor and Collector of Oak Hills, served on the EMS advisory board, served on the Board of the Senior's Center, served on the Board of the local Red Cross, served on the vestry of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, served in the Texas State House of Representatives 1967 – 1969, a member of the Washington County Rotary Club with 20 years of perfect attendance, Brazosport Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year 1970, employed 20 years by Mike Hopkins Distributing as Director of Consumer Awareness and Education.

She is predeceased by: her parents; first husband, James A. Hairgrove; second husband, Donald R. Muzzy; sisters, Frances Skiles, Helen Owens, Virginia "Juffy" Taylor; brother, John E. Blair, Jr.; sons, James Neal Hairgrove and John K. Muzzy.

Family survivors are: children, Anita Hairgrove Schofe, Robert Dale Hairgrove and wife Sandra Goldberg, Richard H. Muzzy and wife Beverly, Jean Muzzy Frazer and husband Jay; grandchildren, Michelle Lewis Czulada, Donald Kelly Muzzy, Philip Allen Muzzy, Christina Marie Muzzy Henry and husband Ron, Richard Brian Muzzy and wife Erin, Theresa "Tracy" Carole Lambert and husband David; great-grandchildren, Sydney Michelle Czulada, Kevin Andrew Czulada, Carter Miguel Henry, Spencer Matthew Henry, Michael Brian Muzzy, Lily Rose Muzzy, Elise Makay Muzzy.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Woody Woodward officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Morton Cemetery, 401 2nd St., Richmond, TX 77469.

Pallbearers will include Kevin Andrew Czulada, Donald Kelly Muzzy, Philip Allen Muzzy, Richard Brian Muzzy, Robert Mikeska and Charles Gaskamp.
