Mary Jean Johnson Goff Garner

Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Jean is home once again with her Lord Jesus Christ. Jean died peacefully in her sleep, February 17, 2013 at the age of 91 at her home in Layton, UT, where she lived with her husband Wallace Garner.

Jean was born February 26, 1921 in American Fork, UT, to Urban and Mary Emily Wanlass Johnson. She spent her childhood years in Lehi, UT, with her four brothers, Richard, Boyd, and Don, who have preceded her in death, and Paul Johnson, who is living in Provo, UT.

She graduated from Lehi High School. It was there that she met her eternal husband Marvin Eugene Goff and married in February, 1941. Jean and Marvin lived in Clearfield, UT, where they raised their family of seven children: Marleen G. (Ron, deceased) Schnepple, Don (Gaylene) Goff, Garth (Marilyn) Goff, Kim (Kathy) Goff, John (Jill) Goff, Sandra G. (Kenneth, deceased) Dalton, Janice G. (Brian) Daley. Together they have 29 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

After Marvin died in 1995, Jean found happiness in her marriage to Wallace Garner in 1998. Jean was an accomplished seamstress and loved doing needlework of all kinds. She also loved reading, traveling and loved spending her winters in Quartzsite, AZ.

Jean was an active member of the L.D.S. Church where she held many positions.

Friends may visit family Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield, Layton, UT.
