Robert was born March 31, 1941 in Wichita Fall, Texas and lived in Burkburnett until moving to Abilene as a teenager in 1957. He was a structural iron worker and welder and was known to be the very best in his trade often being the foreman. His jobs took him all over the United States. Several structures in Abilene and other cities are a show of his workmanship and expertise. Robert became disabled after a construction accident left him with injuries and the loss of a leg, but he never lost his love for climbing iron and welding. His passion was Harley Davidson motorcycles and flying in airplanes. His constant companion was his dog "Butch".
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, E. Harvey and Ruby Brock and son, Robert Lynn Brock, Jr.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Brock Brecheen of Abilene and Kimberly Baker of Ruidoso, NM; sons, Craig Brock of Ruidoso, NM and Keith Brock of Washington state; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Reba Boockholdt of Abilene and Glenda Craft and husband Duane of Boyd, Texas; daughter-in-law, Karen MacBrock of Abilene; nieces and a nephew.
