Carol Jean Duke, 85, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury. A rosary will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home followed by visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Catholic Charities or a charity of the giver's choice. Carol was born July 23, 1927, in Sitka, Kan., daughter of the late Mary Breit and Jacob Dome. She was a parochial school teacher and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Secular Franciscans of St. Francis Village. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she touched everyone around her with her faith in God and tender love. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 1/2 years, Pat H. Duke; her infant son, Stevie Duke; grandson, Duke Davis; and five sisters and one brother in Kansas. Survivors: Daughters, Toni Dillingham and husband, Ray, Patsy Kern and husband, Mike, and Mary Murphy and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Lisa Hall, Jonnie Roach, Jason McCleary, Kristy Rios, Jayme Uboldi, Dean Kern and Rachel Corbin; great-grandchildren, Justin and Colton Hall, Makinlee and Joseph Rios, Alex and Brandon Reed, Hayden Roach, Austin and Ashton Kern, McKinley, Presley and Briley Corbin, Sloan and Carrington Uboldi; and sister, Patty Stevenson.
