Jacob Colston James IV, 52, of Golden, Okla., died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Townsend and Bro. Dennis Piercy officiating.

Jacob was born Jan. 15, 1960, in Altus, Okla., the son of J.C. James III and Pauline (Stanford) James and had lived in this area all of his life. He was president of the Golden Community Center for five years, was a field representative for Purina Dog Chow, a member of International Brotherhood of Papermakers and worked at Valliant for Brown & Root as a overhead crane mechanic for 13 years. He also worked maintenance for over nine years at Domtar in Ashdown, Ark. and had worked on the Prudhoe Bay Pipeline on the north slope of Alaska. Jacob was a member of the American Rabbit Hunters Association; placed six times at the Rabbit Hunting World Championships, where he won the event twice and was a founder of the Southeast Oklahoma Wild Rabbit Hunting Association. Jacob loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them to hunt and fish, loved raising beagles and bassett hounds and liked to rabbit hunt with all of his friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Tom Chambers, and a nephew, Rodger Pendergraff.

Survivors include his wife, Rita James of the home; one daughter, Laura Fendley and husband, Trent; three brothers, Fred Chambers Jr., David Chambers and Paul James; two sisters, Allison Coxsey and Jakelyn Anderson; four grandchildren, Isaac Hall, Katherine Fendley, Trenton Fendley and Colston Fendley; along with numerous nieces/nephews and a host of other family and friends.
