Phillip Hattabaugh who was well known throughout the county, died at his residence near this place (Brownstown) on Saturday night last, at the advance age of 76 years. He for many years, plied the advocation of flatboatman and many were the joke he used to tell in connection with his trip to New Orleans. He had his peculiarities and eccentricities and was as well known by the familiar sobriquet of “Claw Hammer” as by his real name. Now that he sleeps his last sleep, may he rest well.

Addendum: Father George Hattabaugh's memorial (113124930) states that they had 2 sets of twins. Notes regarding wife Mary Coiner states that both Michael and Phillip were born 1791. Michael & Phillip were one set of twins and Margaret and Elizabeth born 1802 were the other set
