STANLEY TOWNSHIP, Ont. (CP) What should have been a few moments of leisure in a hammock ended in tragedy for a southern Ontario man. Huron provincial police say Robert Schneider of Kitchener, Ont. was in a hammock that was secured to a tree with a rotten base. Police say when the tree fell, it struck Schneider on the head. Investigators say the 54-year-old man managed to go inside the home where he died Sunday. The home was in Stanley Township, Ont., near Stratford, Ont. Police investigated the death and an autopsy determined that Schneider's death was accidental and caused by a blunt force to the head.
