ALLEGANY -- Edward M. Booth Jr., formerly of 2549 Five Mile Road, passed away Thursday (Feb. 14, 2013) at the Pines of Machias after a long illness.
Born Jan. 22, 1929, in Bradford, Pa., he was a son of Edward M. and Lulu Reddish Booth Sr.
On Nov. 16, 1957, in Eldred, Pa., he married Glenna Collette, who predeceased him March 15, 2011.
Mr. Booth was a graduate of Allegany High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy from October 1948 to September 1952. For over 35 years, he was employed as a welder at the former Acme Electric in Allegany.
Since 1953, he was member of the Masonic Lodge 833, now the Enchanted Mountain Lodge 252, serving as master in 1975.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca (Stephen) Schnorr of Marshall, Mich., and Cindy (John) Moshier of Allegany; one granddaughter, Madeline Schnorr; one sister, Judy Wilson of Oneonta; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by one sister, Betty Lou Yonker; and one brother, William Booth.
Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
