Die in Crash

DRIVER NEAR DEATH

Family was Pleasure Riding; Interurban Car Demolishes Automobile

TRIMBLE, Sept. 2--Mrs. Ernest Hayburn, 23, formerly of Trimble; her two-year-old son, Ernest, Jr. and her sister-in-law, Miss Flossie Hayburn, of Jacksonville, were killed when an interurban street car crashed into their automobile at Moraine City, near Dayton, Labor Day, according to word received here last evening. Ernest Hayburn, Sr., 24, driver of the car, was injured seriously and was taken to a Dayton hospital.

Mrs. Hayburn, before her marriage, lived in Trimble and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sharp of this village. Her husband and Miss Flossie Hayburn are children of Mrs. Laura Hayburn of Jacksonville. Mr. Hayburn had obtained work in Miamisburg, near Dayton last summer and his wife, with the baby, had joined him there last fall. Miss Flossie Hayburn had been visiting them for several weeks. The tragedy occurred when the machine in which the group was pleasure riding, was struck by a Cincinnati & Lake Erie interurban. It is believed that Hayburn did not see the approaching car. Emmett Sharp, of Trimble, a brother of Mrs. Hayburn, and William Hayburn of Jacksonville, a brother of Mr. Hayburn, left for Dayton last evening and it is expected that they will have the three bodies brought to the local homes for funeral services and burial. No word has been received today of the condition of Mr. Hayburn.
