Joy Lea Davis Tucker passed into Glory on February 17, 2013. Born November 5th, 1923, to Charles Ivan Davis and Lida Lenora Franklin Davis in Leesville, LA, Joy was 89 years young. She passed peacefully in Fort Worth, TX. No disease took her. She simply and with dignity answered the call of her Maker to come home.

Graveside Service were held Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Leesville Cemetery.

Joy grew up in Leesville where she met and married the love of her life — Kemp Tucker. Together they moved away from Leesville, eventually ending up in Shreveport where they began their family. After a tragic accident took Kemp from her, Joy moved back to Leesville where she served many years as the Leesville Junior High School Librarian. Widowed, she raised three children, showing them love, giving them security, and providing for their well-being as only a loving mother could do. She was an amazing woman! For the last eight years she resided in Fort Worth where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Everman. She left many dear friends in Leesville and made many new ones in Fort Worth. Joy had many loved ones around the country she kept in contact with by phone or mail through the years of her life. The family is grateful for the friends God gave her and appreciate their love for her.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charles and Lida Davis; husband, Robert Kemp Tucker, Sr.; and her sister, Vernis Simms.

Survivors: daughter and son-in-law; two sons and one daughter-in-law; five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Services were under Labby Memorial Funeral Home Leesville, Louisiana.
