accompanied by her sister, Mrs.
Noah Foster, of Hartfield, spent
Wednesday with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dake of Bemus
Point, in observance of their 40th
wedding anniversary. Mr. Pickard
and children, also Mr. Foster and
children joined them in the evening
for the anniversary dinner.
Three of Mr. and Mrs. Dake's
children were unavoidably absent:
Lt. George L. Dake, a pilot, is
stationed at Presque Isle, Me.; 3d
Lt M. Allene Dake, an Army
nurse, is stationed at Utica, and
Mrs. James W, Scofield, a teacher,
at Greenwood. Mrs. Scofield was,
able to spend the past week-end
with her parents. A grandson,
Mervin E. Pickard, serving with
the U.S. Navy, is confined to a
Naval hospital at Memphis, Tenn.
Mrs. George L. Dake of Fabius
conveyed her congratulations by
telephone during the evening.
An interesting feature of the
anniversary was the tablecloth
used for the dinner, which was
bought 57 years ago and used at
the 60th wedding anniversary of
Mrs. Dake's great grandparents.
