Vincent R. Good, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak after an extended illness.
Vincent Ross Good was born December 3, 1914 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of James Vincent and Donna Marie (Heberlee) Good. He was raised in the Stennett area graduating from the Stennett High School.
Vince was united in marriage to Jean Evans on April 20, 1936 in Yorktown, Iowa. They spent their married life on farms in the Stennett and Elliott areas moving into Red Oak in 1968.
Vince was a member of the Stratton United Methodist Church and later the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak.
He was a former member of the Wales-Lincoln School Board.
Vince enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trips to Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother: Wayne; infant sister: Myrna; brother: Donald; wife Jean Good on March 19, 2002; and daughter-in-law: Nina Good on September 17, 1997.
Survivors include two sons: Dennis Good and his wife JoAnn of Elliott, Iowa; James Good and his wife Jody of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Sharon Long of Omaha, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren: Kim Anderson and husband Mike of Atlantic, Iowa; Cheri Pullman and husband Keith of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Susan Good of Elliott, Iowa; Rob Long and wife Gina of Creston, Iowa; Kelly Groskurth and husband Kevin of Treynor, Iowa; and Jeremy Good and wife Shari of Griswold, Iowa; 11 great grandchildren: Allyson Anderson; Sydney, Keely, and Beau Pullman; Tyler, Cody, and Samantha Long; Regina Groskurth; Nicholas, Gavin, and Preston Good; and many other relatives and friends.
