Ira Elmore Bishop, Bishop Genealogy, I Bishop, 1963 (2nd Draft, some pages from 1st draft). R Post, AK, "There is evidence that this [Mary "Polly" Beardsley] was his 2nd wife. The first probably was Amanda Reynolds. Found in Kings Ferry Cemetery. The following, from a stone there. Amanda - Wife of Joseph Bishop D. Mar. 7, 1818 age 26; (Note this stone and that of a son Amory R. is among the Reynolds stones, leading to the theory that her maiden name was Reynolds and also the second name of Amory.) This permits the thought that she was mother of the first 3 children named below. . . .".
FYI, I found Amanda's grandchildren, Demo and Almira Sloat, with Oliver's son Abraham in 1860 in Ohio. The children's mother, Almira Bishop Sloat, died there in 1850. That, with the fact that Amanda Reynolds Bishop is buried adjacent to Oliver and Lydia Reynolds, leads me to conclude that they are Amanda's parents. - RPost
