Clarence Lange, 73
Clarence P. Lange, 73, died February 10, 2013 at home with his loving wife, Jane, by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Clarence was born December 10, 1939 in St. Francis to Frank Lange Jr. and Frances (Gappa) Lange. He was baptized in St. Francis. At the age of 5, Clarence moved to Alexandria. He made his First Communion and was confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria. Clarence attended Alexandria public schools and graduated from Central High School in 1957.
On June 23, 1962 Clarence was united in marriage to Mary "Jane" Larson. They were blessed with three sons, Alan, Steve and Curt.
Clarence was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church since moving to Alexandria. He started his involvement in the church at a young age as an altar boy. He later was an usher, and was an active member of many committees.
Clarence was a building contractor in the Alexandria area for 38 years and he built and remodeled many homes and businesses. He belonged to the Vikingland Builders Association for many years. Clarence was a member of Kiwanis and the saddle club. He also helped with Habitat for Humanity.
Clarence enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed traveling. Among his favorites were his many trips to Colorado to visit relatives and the cruises he went on with Jane. His greatest love was to spend time with family. He enjoyed taking them fishing and hunting. He was the number one fan of his grandkids; whether it was a football game, dance recital or school concert, he was there.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Catherine "Kay" Lange.
