"Molly" was the eighth child of Carl & Florence(Howe) Mai. She was born at International Falls, MN. She attended Loman school and then went to beauty school. She married Gary Lee Dougherty April 8, 1972, at the Birchdale church, Birchdale, MN. Molly & Gary had two daughters, Jennifer Sue & Kristi Lea. They also adopted a son, Nicholas Arthur. They lived in Oregon for many years before moving back to Minn. She enjoyed family time and especially her grandchildren. They had many trips to Disneyland, one of their favorite places. They bought & lived on part of the original Mai family farm at Indus. Molly was a spirited woman. She had many hobbies like sewing, writing, remodeling, raising many of their adopted dogs, bunnies and others. She would even give the animals first & second names. She had drove school bus in Oregon. For a few weeks one summer, she drove bus for firemen in the California mountains. Some of the roads were very steep & curvy. She said one trip the guys didn't say much, and once they got down to the bottom she could almost hear them letting their breath out. She found out later that they had been on a bus that had lost it's brakes. She was pretty brave! In the later years she loved to dress up in her fancy red dress, red heels, red hat & red wig, etc and would come to the party. Always a helper to ones in need. Molly & Gary were members of the Birchdale Church. She loved her Lord, and found great comfort in Him. Early in the morning, Nov 26, 2012, she went home to Jesus after suffering long with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and husband. Gary even carved Molly's headstone. She has left a empty spot in our lives to soon!! But we expect to soon be reunited with her, and to see her beautiful smiling face again. We love you Molly....
