In the name of God, Amen, this Eight day of April One Thousand Eight Hundred and One, I, Thomas Evans, schoolmaster, of the County of Caswell and state of North Carolina.....and Ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I Give and Recommand my Soul unto the hands of God that gave and fo my body I Recommand it to the Earth to be buried at the Discretion of my Exec's nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same by the mighty power of God......In the first place I do lend to my well beloved wife, Mary Evans,....of every Description then at her intermarriage death to deferred to my youngest son, William Evans. I also give and bequeath to my Daughter, Francis Ashburn, wife to D. Anderson Ashburn, my.....I also give and bequeath to my well beloved son, Jesse Evans, my.....I also lend to my well beloved daughter, Perilee Evans, wife of David Evans, my....at her death to descend to...my youngest son, William Evans. Also give and bequeath to my well beloved son, Lewis Evans, my....I also give and bequeath to my Daughter, Pheeby Malone, wife to Staples Malone....I also give and bequeath to my son, William Evans....
