At the time of the accident he was employed by the Dick Construction Co. of Morgantown, W. Va., and was working near Mannington, W. Va.
He was born September 5, 1949, in Waynesburg, a son of Paul and Ruth Thomas Stephenson of Waynesburg, R.D. 3, both of whom survive.
He spent his entire life in the Waynesburg community and was a 1967 graduate of Waynesburg High School. From 1967 to 1971, he served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg.
For several years, after his discharge from the Navy, he was employed by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. and for several years he had worked in the construction industry. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461 of Waynesburg and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793 of Waynesburg.
