Jerry L. Conder
Jerry L. Conder, 72, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, Feb.16, 2013, at Royal Oaks Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born Sept. 18, 1940, in Bloomington, to Clifford H. Conder and Gladys Opal (Dunigan) Conder. He married Norma K. Swaim on June 20, 1966, and together they raised five children. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for many years as a laborer for Local 204. After his retirement Jerry enjoyed working on lawnmowers in his lawn repair shop.
He was a member of American Legion Post 104 and the Young Men's Club of West Terre Haute. He enjoyed fishing, motorsports, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Norma Conder of Terre Haute; their children, Shellie McGuinness and husband Kevin of Terre Haute, Rae Ann Wilson and husband Jerry of Mooresville, Charles K. Smith and wife Kerri of Winter Park, Fla., Darada L. Allen and husband Troy of Brazil, and Tracie L. Morris and husband Rick of Terre Haute; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Conder and Bobbie Conder and wife Sheila; sisters, Judy Roberts, Sue Ralston, and Nancy Ford and husband Chuck; a special nephew, Josh Conder; and many other nieces, nephews, and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter Rebecca Ann Wilson; and a brother-in-law, Junior Ralston.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.
