YAKIMA - Milton Lloyd Cooper, 74, of Yakima, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006. He was born February 13, 1932 in Chambers, Nebraska to James and Ada (House) Cooper.

Milton grew up in the nearby hills of Sedro Woolley where he made his most cherished memories of exploring the deep woods and getting lost with his brothers in the lush forest. He loved the outdoors and loved fishing even more, which he continued to do all of his life, including deep sea fishing with his son.

Milton enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Korean War where he earned several medals. He was honorably discharged in 1955. In 1959, he married Dennise Marie Menard. He later married Chris Butler (Short) in 1963, and they had one son, Milton "Sonny" Cooper.

Milton retired from Pepsi Cola and was proud of his forty dedicated years of service with them. He was also among the Brotherhood of Local Teamster 524. After retirement, he continued to spend time hanging with his many friends, lifelong and new. He spent many hours watching sporting events and drinking coffee with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dennise Cooper, his son, Sonny (Karie) Cooper, three grandsons, Nathan, Mason and Brenon Cooper, all of Yakima, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ada Cooper, brothers, Howard and Willard Cooper and a sister, Winona Cooper Cotton.

Viewing will begin Monday, 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Those planning to attend should meet at the cemetery.
