Ann Johs, 85, Bismarck, formerly of Napoleon, died peacefully on Dec. 29, 2008, at her home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Revs. Ed Wehner and Tom Richter officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. in St. Anthony's Cemetery, south of Napoleon.

Ann was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Emmons County, the daughter of Markus and Helen (Marquart) Gefre. She grew up and attended school in rural Hague. Ann married John J. Johs on Oct. 30, 1944. They farmed in rural Napoleon until moving to Bismarck in 1973.

She was a member of the Church of St. Anne as well as Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed playing cards, embroidering and playing pinochle with her grandkids. She also enjoyed caring for her children and grandkids and provided daycare for many children throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; one son, George; one great-grandson, Silas; seven brothers; and three sisters.
