Col. Howard Bolton was born March 18, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Fred and Kate (Evans) Bolton. He served his country during World War II, Korea and Viet Nam having flown 35 bombing missions over occupied Europe in the B-24 Liberator while serving with the 8th Air Force in England. He was later assigned to the civil engineering field where he served as Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff of Engineering & Services, retiring in September of 1978 as the rank of Colonel after more than 35 years of dedicated service. Col. Bolton was a member of the Michael L. Finnell Lodge Nr. 711 A.F. & A.M., Fairborn, the Retired Officers Association, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Dignam-Whitmore Post 526, and a lifetime member of the Order of the Daedalians.
