George J. Schaffer, 89, passed away on December 6. 2012, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by loving family members after a brief illness. He was born in Lima Ohio on September 2, 1923, to Theresa and George Schaffer.
George served his country honorably in the Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was a hard working and dedicated paint shader for DuPont. He was a devoted member of Christ the King Church for many years. George was an avid gardener and took special pride in his yard and vegetable garden. He and his family enjoyed many good times together at their family cottage on Little Wolf Lake in Grass Lake Michigan. He especially enjoyed spending time with and deeply loved his grandchildren.
