Relatives from a distnce in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eisenbraun, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schuler, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Delperdang, all of Tripp, S. Dak., Mrs. Bertha Ahntholz and Catherine Ahntholz of Elk Creek, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ahntholz of Table Rock, Nebr., and Mr. Wm. Ahntholz of Laurel, Nebr.
Mr. Ahntholz was born August 14, 1883 in Hanover, Germany. His parents were Christian Ahntholz and Sophia Lampe. When he was about nine years old, he came with his parents to America and made his home with an older brother who had come to this country earlier and had settled in the Albert City community. After his confirmation at St. John's Lutheran church, near Albert City, Mr. Ahntholz worked at various places in Iowa. Later, he went to Oklahoma, but had to return from there because of ill health.
On Sept. 25, 1905, he was united in marriage with Martha Nitzke in Storm Lake. They made their home in various parts of this area, Varina, Storm Lake, and now for the last number of years near and in Albert City. At various times during his life Mr. Ahntholz suffered quite severe periods of sickness and had been gradually becoming weaker during the last years. However, he still continued to do his work. He was regular in attending the German services of his church and helped as much as he was able in the work of the church. It was not until about the last two weeks of his life that he was forced to stop all work and remain in bed. He reached the age of 69 years, 3 months and 4 days.
Those mourning his departure are his widow, one daughter Fay, Mrs. Albert Stern; one brother Diedrich of Los Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
