Roy C. Lovett, 80, of Clovis, a farmer, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at his home.
He was born June 18, 1919, in Pleasant Hill to pioneer family Franklin Edward and Susan Jane (McGee) Lovett.
He was a lifetime farmer and business owner of Clovis Music Center and Lovett Machinery in Clovis. He served his Lord and Savior, Jesus, through his church as a deacon, teacher and leader of youth.
he was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Susan Lovett; four brothers, Elvia Lovett, Vernon Lovett, Vincon Lovett and Elred Lovett; three sisters, Zelma Lovett, Esther Bombarger and Goldie Glasscock; one son, Bill Stallings; and two wives, Glen King Lovett and Juanita Thompson Lovett.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lovett of Clovis; three sons, Don Lovett of Tucson, Ariz., Terry Lovett of Keller, Texas, and Tim Lovett of Hurst, Texas; three daughters, Vicki Range of Alvarado, Texas, Christine Taylor of Arlington, Texas and Jeanne Wall of Clovis; one brother, Troy Lovett of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Maurine Winkles of Clovis; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church. The Rev. Gene Hawkins and Cahp. Judson Carey Segars will officiate.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ed Kirksey, Stan Patterson, J.E. Williams, Rick Hollis, Leonard Horton and Don Tinsley.
Honorary pallbearers will be all deacons of Central Baptist Church and members of Jack Donahey's Sunday school class.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons, or to the Baptist Children's Home, 2200 S. Ave. I, Portales.
