Marie Thelma (Hill) Gerstemeier Booth, 86, wife of Ronald Booth, of 57 Gerstemeier Lane, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, in Shenandoah House, Fishersville.

She was born December 2, 1926, in Phildelphia, Pennsylvania.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Gerstemeier Booth was a choir director and organist at Greenville United Methodist Church. She also was a piano teacher for 50 years and played piano for USO during World War II. She was the organist and choir director at Grace Presbyterian Church in Horsham, Pennsylvania for 20 years, was choir director and organist at Jarrettown Methodist Church in Pennsylvania, was organist and choir director for the United Methodist Church in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, and worked with Riverheads music department for many years.

She was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church.

She was the reserved accompanist for the Staunton Choral Society.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Henry Gerstemeier on March 21, 1994.

In addition to her husband, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles G. and Joyce (Cosner) Gerstemeier of Ottsville, Pennsylvania; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Gerstemeier and Bobby Brent Mays, Jr., of Waynesboro and Thelma Gerstemeier and Raymond Smith of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; two brothers, John and William Hill, both of Pennsylvania; a sister, Theresa Hunsberger of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; a brother-in-law, Rev. Donald Booth and his wife, Martha; eight grandchildren, Jessica Mays Hayes, Lexi Mays, Hannah Mays, Christine LeMay, Andrea Finkel, Jacqueline Henriksson, Jennifer Brader, and Maria Daniels; thirteen great grandchildren, Sophia Hayes, Laura LeMay, William LeMay, Michael LeMay, Zachary Finkel, Alexandria Finkel, Mason Henriksson, Mikayla Henriksson, Jordan Brader, Madison Brader, Ethan Brader, Gabrielle Brader, and Austin Daniels; two nephews, Joshua Booth and Dr. Adam Booth; five grand nephews; and a grand niece.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in Greenville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Donald Booth and Rev. Kevin W. Haynes. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brent Mays, William LeMay, John Hays, Brett Hays, Charlie Gerstemeier, Dave Croll, Ray Smith, and Zachary Finkel.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Greenville United Methodist Church Choir.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home.
