Johan Jerick Shope (called John later on and was officially "John on records after name change in America) was born CA 1724 Mertzweiler, PRUSSIA (now Germany)

Stephen Prescott submitted that he agrees with the marriage record on this memorial and has determined that his mother's surname was Schaffener, and that he was a Jr.
Note: I did not add Jr because though his father's name was Johann changed to John, the two do not have same middle names. I haven't changed the mother's name as many believe it was Neff. ML
