Even though it has been stated that the Old City Cemetery had not had any burials since about 1840, according to newspaper articles from 1866 and 1878, many Confederate soldiers were buried here in 1864 and 1865. Some of those soldiers' remains were later removed to Rose Hill Cemetery.

This soldier's name is not found in the Rose Hill Cemetery database, nor has a memorial been created for him on Findagrave by an individual who has located his headstone at Rose Hill.

I have chosen to create his memorial at the Old City Cemetery, since that is the burial site listed for him in the 1866 and 1878 newspapers, but will transfer it to Rose Hill or another cemetery upon further evidence proving otherwise.
