Company B, 27th North Carolina Infantry, Cooke's Brigade, Walker's Division, 1st Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Guilford County NC; 19 years old.
Enlisted on 4/20/1861 at Guilford County, NC,
on 6/20/1861 he was mustered into "B" Co. NC 9th Infantry as a Private.
Promoted to Corpl 9/21/1862.
Present on all Rolls from enlistment until died of typhoid pneumonia in camp near Fredericksburg, VA.

The 27th Infantry Regiment was formed at New Bern, North Carolina, in June, 1861, as the 9th Regiment. Reorganized in September as the 17th, its designation was later changed to the 27th. Men of this unit were recruited in Orange, Guilford, Wayne, Pitt, Lenoir, Perquimans, and Jones counties.
