Mr. Dana Don Dixon, age 78, of Florence, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth after an extended illness. He was a native of Big Springs, Neb., and had lived in Lauderdale County for many years. Dana was a farmer and a member of Nebraska Farmers Co-op and Southern Star Stockyard in Elgin and was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II.Visitation will be today, March 12, 2005, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Earl Kerby.Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Dixon; mother, Mary Jane Dixon; three brothers, Herbert Curtis Dixon, Wendell John Dixon and Thomas Libby Dixon.He is survived by a brother, Bill Dixon, of Florence; sister, Rose Marie Peterson, of Nebraska; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Dixon, of Florence, Mary and Bonnie Dixon, both of Nebraska; special children in his life, Stephanie Tompkins, of Florence, Karah Cook, Beth Cook, Kylie Carter; and many nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Kyle Honorary pallbearers will be members of Southern Star Stockyard in Elgin.Greenview Funeral Home, of Florence, is directing..
