Beverly Genevieve Seek, known throughout life as Peggy, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri – the fifth and last child of Walter Jewell and Grace (Murphy) Seek. Her older siblings were Harry, Julia Ann (Maxine), Verna Geraldine "Geri", and Betty.
On April 7, 1945, Peggy was married to Robert Lee "Bobby" Hurst at First Christian Church, Atchison, Kansas. They parented two children: William Allen, born March 13, 1947, and Lisa Kathleen, born October 15, 1956.
Peggy and Bobby lived in Rushville, Missouri throughout much of their young life together, where Bobby served as Postmaster, and she was active in church, community and school activities there. After Bobby's retirement, they moved to St. Joseph where she spent the remainder of her life, except for a short period in Lenexa, KS, following her husband's death in 2010. Peggy had been an active member of the Rushville and King Hill Christian Churches.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Jewell and Grace (Murphy) Seek and husband Bob, her brother, Harry, sisters, Maxine and Geri.
Peggy is survived by her children, Bill Hurst (Donna) Lenexa, Kan.: Lisa Eylar (Gary) Atchison Kan.: sister, Betty Crockett (Bud) St. Joseph, sister-in-law Betty (Hurst) Turpin (Glenn); five grandchildren, Allison Lassalle (Marc), Heather Hurst, Frank McQueen, William McQueen, and Katy Eylar; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden and Spencer Lassalle and Liam McQueen.
Memorial service was held February 20, 2013 at Clark Sampson Funeral Chapel in St. Joseph, Rev. Bob Turpin, officiating; burial in Armstrong Cemetery, Rushville, MO.
