Residence Catawba County NC; a 21 year-old Farmer.
Enlisted on 4/27/1861 at Catawba County, NC as a Private, on 5/18/1861 he mustered into "A" Co. NC 12th Infantry.
On 9/14/1861 he transferred into "F" Co. NC 32nd Infantry
Promoted to 4th Corpl 10/1861.
Promoted to 3rd Sergt 5/1/1862.
Mortally wounded 5/10/1864 Spotsylvania Court House, VA.
He died of wounds prior to 6/14/1864.

The 32nd Infantry Regiment was organized at Drewry's Bluff, Virginia, in April, 1862, using the 1st North Carolina Infantry Battalion as its nucleus. Its companies were raised in the counties of Tyrrell, Nash, Camden, Northampton, Catawba, Bertie, Chatham, and Franklin.
