Gin was born on September 16, 1917 in Sturgeon, PA, a daughter of the late John A. and Susan M. (Hosterman) Webster. Her siblings included two brothers: John and Robert Webster as well as seven sisters: Alice Bennett, Violet Tumnskie, Oma McCullough, Harriett Genevieve Snyder, Gladys Brothers, Gloria Anderson and Isabelle Sellers. Her family moved from Sturgeon, PA to Colliers, WV (Brooke County) in 1924, where she attended Colliers School and Follansbee High School (graduating in 1936).

Gin and Mathias William "Matt" Hensler of Wellsburg, WV were married on April 21, 1943, by Rev. Jacob Shrader at Franklin United Methodist Church, Washington Pike, Wellsburg, WV. The couple lived for several years in Cross Creek, WV and then moved to Franklin Community, Washington Pike, Wellsburg, WV, where she resided for the next 67 years.

Gin was the mother of three children: William Mathias (born in 1947), Gerald Lee (born in 1952), and Diane Elizabeth (born in 1956). Her grandchildren include Jeffrey William (born 1973), Mathias William (born 1978); and Amy Beth Hensler (born 1981).

Gin was a phenomenal homemaker who (when her children were young) served as a volunteer "Homeroom Mother" at Franklin Elementary School, Washington Pike, Wellsburg, WV. She was a devoted member of the Franklin United Methodist Church (for nearly 70 years) where she worked tirelessly with the "girls in the kitchen crew" in support of the church's fund raising activities and assisting with bereavement dinners. She was a member of the Brooke County Chapter of the AARP #3910, and the Brooke County Senior Center.

Following three years of declining health (congestive heart failure), Gin passed away quietly on February 15, 2013, at Ann's Country Retreat, Washington Pike, Wellsburg, WV.
