Ryan David Blake, 29, of Charleston, left this earth Tuesday, February 12, 2013. He was born October 20, 1983 in Baytown, TX.
He was preceded in death by paternal Grandfather, Elmer Blake; maternal grandfather, Raymond Bush; maternal grandmother, Helen Bush; dear friends, Samuel Postlethwaite and Michael Motes.
Ryan attended Ripley High School and graduated from Marshall University in 2012. He was a communications specialist with the 2nd /19th Special Forces Group in Kenova, WV. He was also attached to the Joint Operations Center in Charleston.
Survivors include his loving son, Samuel Michael Blake and Sam's mother Caitlin Dean of Ravenswood; his father, Terry Blake; mother and step-father, Stephen and Kimberly Fowler of Charleston; one brother, Matthew Daniel Blake of Charleston; one step brother, Pierce Fowler of Denver, CO; paternal grandmother, Thelma Blake of Columbia, SC; many relatives and friends, and his comrades of the 2nd/ 19th Special Forces Group and JOC.
Graveside service, with military honors, provided by 2nd/19th Special Forces Group and the West Virginia National Guard, at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Ripley Road, Cottagevillle with Chaplain Major Robert Hudson and Rev. Bill G. Fowler officiating.
