PORTLAND -- Lowell Dean Morton, 59, of Portland, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in Maine Medical Center. His death occurred just hours apart from his sister Marlene Layton (Find A Grave Memorial# 105241767).

He was born in Presque Isle on May 13, 1953, the son of the late Laurel Morton and Edrie Eldora (Richards) MacDonald. He grew up in Marsadis and graduated from Gorham High School and went on to attend Boston Technical School.

He worked for the Bonny Eagle School District for the past five years.

Lowell spent many hours doing crossword puzzles and sharing many hunting and fishing stories with his numerous friends. He also would visit the Westbrook Dunkin Donuts with Scott and his Cousin Ron.

Lowell is survived by his sister, Sandra Lee Gudino and her husband Juan of San Jose, Calif.; as well several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Byron Shannon and Marlene Layton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life/party on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at 10 Congress Square Plaza in the community room on the 6th floor. To enter, please dial apt # 304 and you will be let in. Burial in Oakfield Cemetery, Oakfield will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 981 Forest Ave., Portland.
