Betty June Gipson was born to Bill and Alice Smith in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on June 25, 1938, and died in Fresno, California on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the age of 74. Before retirement Betty was a nurse at Community Hospital. She was the Supervisor for the Endoscopy Department and later a Dialysis nurse. She was passionate about her career and the care she gave others. Betty was a remarkable woman, she loved her husband Joe whom she was married to for 55 years. Betty was a member of the Newlife Community Church in Easton where she enjoyed her visits with the ladies from the church. The highlight of her Sunday was lunch with her two sisters; Helen and Linda or her sister-in-law Dovie. She also looked forward to her Monday visits with Debi, Luciano or Gina Luis who brought her home cooked meals and visited with her. She was also blessed to have wonderful neighbors, the Chavez family who were always there for her. She loved spending time with her two grandchildren, Stephanie and Cody, and attended all of their activities. She loved shopping with Stephanie and talking about life with Cody. Additionally, her niece Rhonda came to live with her and her husband Joe. Betty became a "soccer mom" attending all of Rhonda's games supporting her in the sport. Rhonda's sister Jobie would come by for visits and Betty always had words of advice for the two sisters. The family would like to thank Hinds Hospice for their kind and loving care. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Joe; her parents, Bill and Alice Smith; and her brothers, John Smith, Don Smith and Bill Smith.
