HINESBURG - 10/28/1958 - 2/12/2013 Mitchell Kevin Mason, 54, of Hinesburg, was born in Wolfeboro, N.H., and was a graduate of Alton Central School, Class of 1976.

Mitch was an avid fishermen, he enjoyed competitive tournaments, but relished the time spent fishing with his kids and friends. Mitch was such an enthusiast that in the mid '90s he formed the Washington County Bassmasters Fishing Club, this is a competitive bass club with weekly tournaments. Mitch dedicated many resources that benefited the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation, including the annual Washington County Bassmasters Tournament that continues to raise money for the foundation. Mitch managed a balance of family time and a successful career. Mitch owned and operated the IGA in Argyle for 18 years, before segueing into retail management.

Mitch was the son of Kay (Menard) Long and the late Richard Mason. He is also survived by his loving wife, Lynn Furno of Vt.; children, Eva and Chad Galusha of N.H., Michael and Morgan Bushway of N.Y., and Meredith and Josh DeRepentigny of Vt.; stepson, Erik Bachman of Vt.; brothers, Rock and Gloria Mason of N.H., and Richard Mason and Cindy Porter of N.H.; sister, Steffanie and Arthur Johnson of N.H.; eight grandchildren, Noah Galusha, Ayden and Kaleb Bushway, Eliza Sicely, Madigan, Ezea and Jackson Harrison- Bachman, and Dashiell Fleury-Bachman. Also an aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mitch was predeceased by his daughter, Courtney Mason; and brother, Scott Mason.

Mitch was very family oriented and was a nurturing husband, father and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor, which will be greatly missed by the community, friends and family who loved him so.

Please join us as we celebrate his life on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Courtyard Marriott Burlington Harbor, 25 Cherry St., Burlington. This will be the only public service held.
