Their children were Rebecca, James (m. Martha Conway), Elizabeth "Betsy" (m.Pleasant W. Elliot), Emeline (m. Elliot McLane) and Peliner/Celiene.
Per Larry Cook: After Ambrose and Abigail married they were in PA for a short time and then went to Franklin County, Ohio. In 1840 Ambrose went to Indiana, near Lafayette on the Wabash River. In a history of Ogle County, IL, it states that Ambrose and 6 children arrived in 1841 via an ox team. Then they went to IA for 2-3 years, returned to Ogle County, IL, and later back to IA.
Ambrose's married Nancy Tripp on Nov 21, 1847, in Ogle County, IL. Nancy was born on Feb. 1825 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Charles Tripp and Lydia Willard (second husband was William Sheffield).
Nancy was alone in the 1880 census for Omaha, Douglas County, NE and her youngest son Jerry was with his older sister Martha Taylor Steinert and her family in the same county. I couldn't locate Ambrose in an 1880 census, but he died in IA in 1881. Nancy died on Oct. 23, 1905 in ID. Their children were Estella (m. George Washington Briggs), Mary Etta (m. Peter/Jacob Coonrod), Benjamin Franklin (married Elizabeth Jane Howland), Martha Jane "Jennie" (m.Jutus Steinert), Stephen/Daniel (m. Fanny Mary Byheldol), Hannah "Emma" (m. Ira Hart), and Jeremiah "Jerry" Sylvenis (m. Arvada "Vada" Gould.
