ANAHUAC - Serviced for Jewell Marie Bayless Minter, 72, of Anahuac were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Anahuac.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.

Mrs. Minter died Monday, Jan. 14, at Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac.

She was born May 30, 1929, in Trinity, the daughter of George W. Bayless and Iva M. Jones Bayless. She had resided in Rockwall for 10 years but was a resident of Anahuac for most of her life.

Mrs. Minter was a retired PBX operator, was a homemaker and attended the Southmore and Oak Island Baptist churches. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, gardening and tending her aquariums.

She was preceded in by her parents: a granddaughter, Michelle Sisson and a brother James Bayless.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Minter of Anahuac: four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sandra and Benny Beaver of Leadhill, AR, Vickie and Billy Mushinski of Hearn, Connie and James Green of Etoile and Debra Gates of Anahuac: two sons and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Janice Minter Seagoville and Dean and Shari Kennedy of Anahuac; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Georgia Bayless of Trinity and Wayne and Lynn Reynolds of Groveton: 20 grandchildren: 21 great grandchildren: three uncles, Jack Jones of Santa Rosa, CA., J.R. Jones of Cashmere, WA., and Eddy Jones of Wills Point; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family had requested that memorial donations be made to the Oak Island Baptist Church, 409-252-4253.

Sterling Funeral Home of Anahuac directed the arrangements.
Trinity Funeral Home handled the local services.
