Mary was born on September 5, 1916, to Mary (Gatling) Blount and Lamar Blount in San Augustine, Texas. She was am Educator. and a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in San Augustine.
Cremation was chosen and Memorial Services are being planned at a later date by the family of whom survive her; Her Daughter, Barbara and her husband, Louis Runnels of San Augustine; Granddaughters, Mary Bailey Mehta and her husband, David K. of Penascola, Florida, and Ann Bailey Gonzales if the The Woodlands, and her nephew, Louis J. Wortham.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Esco Bailey; sister, Annie Mae Blount Wortham and brother-in-law, Louis J. Wortham .
