Dr. Caffrey attended Creighton Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska. Ray joined the Air Force as a captain in his final year in medical school, taking his young and growing family to bases in Nebraska, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana and Missouri.In 1955 he joined a general medicine practice in Grandview, Missouri. He was a member of many societies including, the Jackson County Medical Society, the Greater Kansas City Pathology Society and the Missouri Pathology Society, among others.
