Tammy Renea Foster, 53, was carried home to heaven peacefully in Jesus' arms on 2/11/13. Born 9/30/59 to Bobby Vern & Myrtle Oleta(Douglas) Leek in Wichita Falls, TX, Tammy was always on the go – from dance and piano lessons as a girl to working, scrapbooking and taking care of her family as an adult. She loved living every moment to the fullest. She met the love of her life, Stan Foster, in high school. She graduated from Ryder High in 1978. Her first child, a daughter, was born in 1982. In 1985, the family of 3 moved to California. It was here the relationship with Barbara Foster blossomed into a long-lasting, deep-rooted friendship that meant the world to both of them. Her second child, Robert, was born in 1988.Tammy worked in the IT department at Nestle. Her love of learning and innate intelligence helped her to excel in this position. She earned the Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert designation through her work as a Systems Analyst at this Fortune 500 Company. In 2004, the family of 4 moved home to Texas to close the distance between their families. She graduated with an associate's degree in nursing from Weatherford College in 2007. She worked as an RN for Palo Pinto General Hospital her entire nursing career, providing her patients with compassionate care and brightening their spirits with a smile described as bright, infectious, and genuine by all who knew her. When she wasn't working, she was still busy. Whether it was reading, gardening, scrapbooking, or participating in church activities, Tammy made the world a more beautiful place through her creativity and hard work. Tammy was welcomed by her grandparents, father, aunts & uncles, niece, and friends when she joined our heavenly Father. She was survived by her mother & second father, Charles Mills, husband, brother, 2 children, nieces & nephews, friends, and her two "grand dogs". A viewing will be held at Baum Carlock Funeral Home Friday from 6p – 8p. Funeral Services will be officiated by Pastor Ernest Bernet beginning 10 am at her place of worship, St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Mineral Wells, Texas. Following will be a graveside service at Woodland Park Cemetery. Tammy was a devoted member of her church, serving as the Treasurer of the Luther Women's Ministry League. In lieu of flowers, it was her request to have donations made to the church she so loved.
