Wilford "Tuck" Compton, 91, of Hoopeston died at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 13, 2013) at home.
He was born Feb. 28, 1921 in Faubush, Ky. to Chester Compton and Hattie Weddle Compton Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; four brothers and one daughter, Charlene Young. He married Helen Webb on April 10, 1950 in Hoopeston. She survives.
He also is survived by one son, Steve (Verna) Compton; three daughters, Vicki Johnson, Teresa Lane (Mike Dean) and Linda Atteberry; one sister, Christine Hill; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
