Requiem High Mass for Mrs. Elizabeth Flanagn, who died of pneumonia last Thursday morning at her home, 189 Wood Street, Westernport, was celebrated Monday morning at St. Peter's Catholic Church by the Rev. Monsignor A. Scarpati.
The Rev. Msgr. William E. Kelly, pastor of St. Martin's Church, Washington, former assistant pastor of St. Peter's, delivered the sermon. Rev. Charles H. Quinn and Rev. George J. Pugh, assistant pastors were in the sanctuary.
Active pallbearers were George Davis, William Jenkins, George Robertson Jr., Horace P. Whitworth Jr., Russell Otto and Monroe Pearce.
Honorary pallbearers were Attorney Arthur Arnold, Martin L. Watson, C. F. Adams, John Barnard, Dr. C. A. Ryan, Dr. James H. Wolverton Jr., Dr. Robert W. Bess, Joseph L. Mansfield, P. A. Laughlin and Horace P. Whitworth Sr.
A daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (Louth) Grant, Mrs. Flanagan was born in Westernport and resided there all her life. She attended St. Peter's School, Westernport, and Visitation Academy, Frederick, Md. Her husband, the late John T. Flanagan, died in 1924.
Mrs. Flanagan was a member of St. Peter's Church and the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin.
Surviving are two daughters, Misses Rose and Naoma Flanagan, and one son, Roy Flanagan, all at home, and one brother, E. R. Grant, Washington, D. C."
