Joseph "Joe" Lowry, 84, of Harrisburg, AR., departed this life Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro., AR.

He was born August 28, 1928 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the son of Ludie and Letha (Reed) Lowry.

He married Lois Charline Earl on June 20, 1953. They have enjoyed fifty-nine years together.

Joe served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a member of the Hydrick Baptist Church in Cherry Valley, AR and served as Deacon there for several years. He enjoyed farming and working and providing for his family and spending time with them and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ludie Author and Letha (Reed) Lowry, one son, Gene Thomas Lowry, and one brother, Bob Lowry.

Joe is survived by his wife, Lois Charline (Earl) Lowry of the home, two sons: Bill and wife Nova Lowry of Harrisburg, Wesley and wife Virginia of Bono, one daughter, Beverly Threat of West Memphis, one daughter-in-law, Nancy Lowry of Jonesboro, five grandchildren: Amanda and husband Marion Trowbridge, Jay Threat, Leigh Threat, Cliff Lowry, and Adam Lowry, five great-grandchildren: Jacob and Joey Trowbridge, Avalyssa, Arianna, and Ethan Threat, two honorary family members: Wayne Ball of Cherry Valley and Terry Pierce of Harrisburg, and numerous family members and friends.

Funeral services were held at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home chapel with internment in Bay Village Cemetery.
