Glenn Barry Skinner, 46, of Columbia passed away at his home. Born in Columbia, SC he was the son of Carolyn Redmond Skinner and the late Alan Hamer Skinner.

He was veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed as a transportation specialist and enjoyed bowling and spending time with his dear friends. He had a heart of gold and was loved by all.

Surviving are his mother, a sister, Tabitha Soderstrom (Brian) of Lexington; a brother, Kevin M. Skinner (Angel) of Gaston; nephews, Noah and Elijah both of Gaston, Daniel Soderstrom of Lexington; niece, Alison Soderstrom of Lexington; three very special friends, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Alex. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Lt. Phillip Stokes. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the funeral home.
