He was born in McComb, Ill., to Thurlo J. and Faye (Kendrick) Falder. He earned his master's degree from Western Illinois University. He married Linda Sue King in Colechester, Ill., on June 11, 1961. She died June 7, 2004. He moved to Wabash County in 1974 from Hamilton, Ill.

Mr. Falder formerly owned Shangri-la Nursing Home, LaFontaine, now Rolling Meadows Health Care. He was a former guidance counselor and teacher in Illinois and also was a charter boat captain in Michigan City.

He attended Wabash Friends Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine Club in Illinois. He was a former member of the Wabash Country Club.

Surviving are sons, Michael (Traci), Alma, Mich., and Alexander (Tricia), Sewickley, Pa.; and a grandson, Jonah Michael, Alma, Mich.
