Mexico City, Nov 10 {AP} - The body of Mrs. Rita Hickman Evans of New York city, who died here of a heart attack, will be sent to Helena, Mont. for burial, friends said today. Mrs. Evans was stricken Wednesday after returning from a vacation in Acapulco, Mexico.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. William Boyce Thompson of Yonkers, NY and a niece, Mrs. Anthony Drexel

Mrs. Hornsby Evans Succumbs; Sister of Mrs. W. B. Thompson
Mrs. Rita Hickman Evans, sister of Mrs. William Boyce Thompson of 1060 North Broadway, and a member of Keskeskick Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, died Wednesday in Mexico City, Mexico of a heart attack. She was the widow of Captain Horsby [sic] Evans.
Born in Virginia City, Mont., Mrs. Evans was the daughter of Richard Owen Hickman, form Montana State Treasurer and holder of other public offices, and Margaret Perrill Hickman.
For many years, Mrs. Evans resided abroad and engaged in extensive work in China and France during the present war.
After her return to the United States in November 1941 she established her residence at 277 Park Avenue, New York City, and was expected to return there from her recent trip to Mexico.
Mrs. Evans was chairman of the knitting committee of the Mrs. William Boyce Thompson Foundation, a member of the Hudson River County Club, of the Town Hall Club in New York City and of the American Women's Voluntary Service of New York.
Her sister is her sole survivor.

NOTE re: death date discrepancy: The actual Mexico death record shows date as 9 Nov 1944 whereas the US Report of Deaths of American Citizens shows 7 Nov 1944. The obituary in the Younkers, NY newspaper dated 10 Nov [Friday] says Rita died on Wednesday, thus indicating 8 Nov as death date.
