Chip Wood fell asleep in the Lord Feb. 18, 2005. He was a gentle, creative thinker. He loved his family, cherished his daughters, and thought constantly about his Grandmother.

Chip was an internationally acclaimed hairdresser. He mentored numerous young stylists and photographers during his years as owner, operator and teacher at Looker Hair Group in Dallas. The many awards he won, as well as the tremendous respect he was given by so many people in his industry acknowledged his talent and vision. The name "Chip" was synonymous with hair. As well as hair, Chip did photography of his models and runway presentations. Some of the awards he received were: The Kentucky Colonel Award presented by the Governor of Kentucky in 1991. This was the first time a hairdresser was ever given this award. He won the North American Hairdresser of the Year 4 years in a row. Chip traveled internationally with the Trevor Sorbie Team for seven years.

He is survived by his daughters, Stella Raye Wood, Layla Bleu Wood, and Alex Bergeson; brother, James D. Wood and companion, Julie Eaker; nieces, Chrystal Wood and John Mooney and their children, Brendan, Haelea, Jahyden and Brandy Flores and husband, Jeff Flores; their children Emily, Michael, Baleigh and Zachary; grandmother, Eunice Trousdale; his companion, Danielle Wood Bergeson; and nephew, Terry Bergeson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke's Methodist in Odessa with the Rev. Kevin Bushart officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial be made to Teen Challenge, P.O. Box 251, Midland, TX, 79702.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
