She was born September 18, 1920, near Lupus, Missouri, daughter of Porter and Emma (Dietzel) Brizendine. She was married February 28, 1938 to John M. Smith, in Boonville, Mo., and he preceded her in death January 14, 1992.
Edna was a homemaker and member of the California Methodist Church. She had also been a member of Lupus Baptist Church and Jamestown Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years in Lupus and Jamestown churches.
Survivors include one son, Donald D. Smith and wife JoAnn of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Courtney Smith-Tsao and husband Kuojen, Aaron Smith, Allison Smith, and Douglas Smith; daughter in law Faye Smith-Vessell, and husband Randy; and two great-grandchildren Oliver and Penelope Tsao. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Tommy Gene Smith who passed away October 20, 1987; and four sisters; and five brothers.
Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Roll Funeral Home Chapel in California. Burial was at the Jamestown Methodist Cemetery.
